Beautiful any time of year. We splash at the base of the water falls with our pup.

If you go by the cabins and beyond, the huge stone fire place on top of the "mountain" and the view from up there are both worth seeing. The shore line of Lake Superior on that side is quite different than the rest of the park. On a clear day, you can see Split Rock Light House.

Shovel point and the shore line are both worth seeing on the other side, especially if you like to skip rocks and hunt for agates, sea glass, and other pretty treasures.

It was beautiful! Absolutely loved it. Had fun the entire time and the campsites had the perfect amount of privacy. The waterfalls were gorgeous! The bathrooms and showers at the sanitary station were clean and comfortable. The one and only thing I didn't like was the firewood. It cost 6$ a bundle and we burned 2 bundles in about an hour. The quality of the wood burned SO fast we spent so much money just on wood. Other then that it was an amazing trip!

This is by far one of our favorite spots to enjoy the outdoors! So many things to do and see here, where to start?

Insect repellent is a must. Definitely check for ticks. Not worse here than anywhere else in the area- just part of the North Woods.

A really nice park to visit any time of year. My favorite trail is shovel point, which is convenient because you can access it from permit free parking at the entrance. It has a huge visitor's center now, if you are into that sort of thing. Keep an eye out for wolves on the trails in the winter.

This is a great park, and a wonderful asset to the State of Minnesota since 1979. Spring time at Tettegouche means swollen rivers and raging waterfalls, but also means fewer people on the trails and a chance to feel alone with the wilderness of the North Shore. If you head north to Tettegouche, be sure to take some time to hike beyond the main waterfalls and off onto the easily accessible Superior Hiking Trail, the premier hiking trail in the Midwest. The Tettegouche visitor center has wifi and bathrooms that are open 24 hours a day. The visitor center also serves as a storm shelter in case of inclement weather.

I've been here many, many times. Never disappoints me! Great state park for photo opportunities. There's a beautiful high falls (waterfall) here, which is about a mile hike from the parking lot. They have a large rest area with many bathrooms, a small shop and I believe a cafe. Always clean on the inside and outside! Many, many trails for hiking! Also, don't forget to stop at Palisade Head when you're here.

Our normal hike takes us past the High Falls, down to the Two-Step falls in a loop past the Cascades, and back up the road to the parking area. Lots of stairs here if you want to see any of the falls up close.

Always see wildlife here. Deer, wolves, coyotes, eagles, beaver, rabbits, grouse, even a little mouse one winter. Fishing for salmon and trout. This place truly is amazing!
