The breakfast was free and good, and the coffee was the same. The view was wonderful, listening during the evenings out the screen window was great too.
We will definitely come back to this hotel.
The only thing is that it's an expensive place to stay for what amounts to a hotel with a fancy pool. The pool is great, mind you; but not like "water park" great. For being a smaller slide with a single pool, used also for recreational swimming, it works great. The kiddie pool was fun for the little ones, and the hot tub was hot.
This is a wonderful spot right off the highway 61 and overlooking Lake Superior on the North Shore. The staff is wonderful and very helpful. There's a pool here with a giant water slide and a smaller pool with a small slide for the kids. A pretty good size hot tub spa in the pool area. A free breakfast that usually changes daily a little bit. There's always coffee in the air pot and the makings for hot chocolate or apple cider. We stayed on the lake side in a king suite with a jacuzzi tub and a balcony. Watching the sunrise in the morning was fantastic. And even with the temperature outside being 18 degrees the sun shining on the balcony warmed it to be able to sit out there and have coffee. We would definitely stay here again and are already planning to come back. It's situated a little over an hour north of Duluth giving you access to go either direction north or south with so much to do up and down Highway 61.
The continental breakfast is delicious, Its a great family hotel, the staff is friendly and very helpful. The lady that checked us in was very sweet and informative.
The pool was great, slide a little too big/scary for my 5 year old. It is taller than the pictures make it look, maybe. Still nothing too huge. I tried it, and it was fun! Simple but enjoyable, I did it a number of times.
Nice place to stay. Fairly comfortable beds and a good continental breakfast in the AM. What I really like about this hotel is that the t.v has a guide. They have a nice water slide and pool area for the kids as well. The best place to stay in silver bay
Nice, clean hotel. Very nice pool area with a big slide. Our toddlers really enjoyed the kids pool and slide as well. Good breakfast. Had all the standards including waffles and bacon and scrambled eggs. The room wasn't overly spacious (we had a two queen), but had a wonderful view of Lake Superior.
In the King suite, they even have bathrobes for the guests. I thought that was pretty nice.
I think the extra expense is due to the fact that you're staying on the North Shore, very near to Lake Superior. It's not ON Superior, but within eyesight, giving a nice view.
If you just want to bring the kids to a waterpark, you can find less expensive options. If you want a nice view too, where it's really quiet outside, this is a nice place to stay.
Our room is so spacious, The bed is comfortable and the set up is nice.
