If you want a break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and have a quiet and relaxing time, this is a perfect place to go. Breakfast was delicious. Don't forget to take that short walk and spend time enjoying the sights and sounds of the Baptism River, it is priceless.
We stayed in the Northern Lights room and thought the BNB was well-built and made from quality materials. The property is on 32 acres and includes 1/4 mile along the Baptism River; it's secluded from highway noise. Highly recommend a trip down to see the river, it's amazing!
Probably our 4th stay here. Great place to enjoy the North Shore.
Our bed was squeaky which made us self-conscious to say the least, that plus the food knocked our rating down a star. The food wasn't bad, but it was kind of unusual/exotic and it wasn't enough to fill us up. I'd recommend that the fruit bowl that sits on the table have real apples and oranges and not wax! It would also be nice to have access to ice.
All in all, it's a beautiful place to get away.
Fun, loved the wood burning sauna and swimming in the river. Somewhat disappointed with the spare breakfast.
In addition, the property has a beautiful corner of the Baptism River flowing through it. Breakfasts were excellent and satisfying. Lura decorated the place beautifully. Tettegouche State Park is only a short drive away (and a million other parks, too). Grand Marais is about an hour away which makes for a great day trip.
My wife and I had a wonderful stay and are so impressed with Andy and Lura. They have a sauna that's reminiscent of a Fairy Tale building that I recommend as a "must use" if you stay; you get to build the fire and get the steam going yourself, such a fun experience!
